The Infrastructure Capacity Assessment 2010 is a report which identified what infrastructure provision existed within the borough, attempting to identify gaps or capacity issues within that provision by service area or provider.

As well as being good practice, infrastructure planning is a requirement of the Core Strategy production process.
The Infrastructure Delivery Plan updated in 2014 is a supporting document for the Core Strategy and part of the Local Planning Framework. The IDP covers the plan period from 2012 to 2027 although its content will be annually monitored and periodically reviewed in the Annual Monitoring Report (AMR).
The document includes details of the social, physical and green infrastructure identified by the council and other service providers as being necessary to support the delivery of the Core Strategy. The document explains the approach we've taken to identifying this infrastructure, how it will be delivered, and an assessment of the potential risks associated with doing so.
We commissioned Warrington Multi Modal Transport Model (MMTM) in 2008.

The model itself was developed by WSP consultants on our behalf and for other key partners.
The primary reason for developing the MMTM was to provide an evidence base to support and aid decision making regarding spatial development, transport infrastructure and services. With regards to the Local Planning Framework and specifically the Core Strategy, the model was used to test and understand the implications of different land use scenarios on travel demand.
This was achieved by identifying a series of strategic land use options for testing, with each relating to a different focus and level of development within the borough. Key outputs were then extracted from the MMTM to inform as to whether the amounts of development proposed would impact on transport infrastructure and travel times and to what extent.
