Works have started this week to resurface two sections of Winwick Link Road Southbound, from the layby near to Highfield Lane to Myddleton Lane overbridge and on the approach to the traffic signals at Newton Road roundabout.

The road will be closed Monday to Friday (Saturday morning) between 7:00pm and 5:00am to carry out this work safely, and will take up to 5 weeks to complete. Highfield Lane will also be closed when Winwick Link Road Southbound is closed.

The signed diversion route is A579 Winwick lane, A572 Newton Road, A572 Southworth Road, A49 Mill Lane, A49 Winwick Road, A49 Newton Road.

Cones, barriers and signs are there for a reason - to protect our workers from danger and to keep the public safe.
