School Travel Plan Support

We can offer you support to create a school travel plan.  Travel plans promote safe, sustainable and less car dependent journeys to school. They aim to reduce congestion and increase walking, scooting, cycling and public transport trips. Making the environment around the schools healthier and safer.

Junior Safety Officers

The junior safety officer scheme allows children to talk about travel and road safety in their school, raising road safety awareness with other pupils, teachers and the wider community, while working with Road Safety Officers.

Assemblies

Usually delivered to a whole school, these can focus on active travel to school or be tailored to address a specific issue within your school.

Safer Transition Travel

Key messages to help support the Yr 6 and 7 pupils transition from primary school to secondary school, helping children and young people to travel independently and confidently.

Anti-idling Campaigns

To raise awareness of the impact leaving car engines running has on the air quality in the school environment.

Scooter Training

Aimed at years 1 and 2, learning how to safely ride a scooter has many benefits. The aim of the sessions is to establish the basic skills and knowledge to start riding safely, understanding spatial awareness and the ability to navigate the ride to school more safely.

Bikeability Cycle Training

Delivered in partnership with Bikeright and available to all schools, Bikeability is designed to give children the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads. We offer a variety of training ranging from balance bike training through to level 3 where pupils learn to plan and make independent journeys on busier roads.

We also offer adult cycle training and family rides.
