We are the small, but perfectly formed Attendance Service. We support all schools with the aim of improving attendance. As a result of our current post-holder taking up a secondment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Attendance Service Support Officer to join the School Attendance Service.
The role
The updated DfE guidance, 'Working together to improve school attendance' became statutory in August 2024. As a result the work of our Support Officer is critical. Ability to work rapidly and accurately will be critical.
You will be liaising with Head Teachers, senior leaders, social workers and other professionals and experience of working in a school or supporting schools would be beneficial to this role, but not essential.
The role is Term Time Only - 38 weeks. You would be expected to pick a school's holiday pattern that you wished to follow so that you are in work when most schools are open. The post is 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours/week) which can be worked over 3 days. We would be willing to consider other working patterns too. You would be expected to work in our Time Square offices at least 1 or 2 days per week, but working patterns are flexible.
The role is fixed term until 31 December 2025.
What's needed?
You would be particularly well suited to this job if you are:
- An excellent organiser with strong administrative skills and a keen attention to detail

- Aware of your duty of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Able to accurately record minutes of meetings and clearly note actions arising

- Access to our Health & Wellbeing Programme
- Flexible working
