We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be the Deputy Manager of our edge of care service and established children’s home that has been consistently rated Good by Ofsted.

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring leader who shares our passion for supporting our most vulnerable children, to join our service that works with families at times of crisis to help prevent their children coming into care, as well as supporting the young people in the home to restore and rebuild relationships.  

The home consists of a registered homes manager, 2 deputy managers, 6 portfolio leads and a team of residential care workers and wake night staff.

They will also be part of a group of 7 experienced registered managers and 8 deputy managers in the authority that meet regularly with the service manager to share best practice.

The role

To assist the Registered Manager in the overall running of the service and the home, in line with the requirements of the Children’s Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards, any other relevant legislation and Warrington Borough Council’s Policies and Procedures.

The post holder will support in the supervision of staff and have the opportunity to be on a paid-on call rota supporting the residential estate out of hours.

You will be expected to work 37 hours a week Monday to Friday, offering flexibility to support around the needs of the staff team and young people.

We offer a substantial training package and are committed to supporting development and progress. We are in easily commutable distance of Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside. We have a car leasing scheme (salary sacrifice) and rail ticket scheme available for our employees. When established within the role we will support you in the completion of a Level 5 Foundation degree in Leadership and Management.

What's needed?

As part of this role, you will occasionally be expected to work evenings, weekend and complete sleep-in shifts. 

This role can be challenging, rewarding and we are looking for people that are flexible, motivated, and resilient. The right candidate will be highly skilled, be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team as well as being able to work unsupervised within the community.

The right candidate will have the ability to meet the travel needs of the post. Have access to a car with business insurance or the ability to acquire business insurance as the post will involve transporting children, young people and families.
