The Warrington Domestic Abuse Hub has an exciting opportunity to recruit for a Hospital IDVA.

The role requires providing a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic abuse, with the primary aim of increasing their safety and reducing the risk of harm from abuse. The role will be primarily based within the Safeguarding Team at the Warrington Hospital 4 days a week and working in the DA Hub at Time Square 1 day per week. A key requirement of the role is to work on site 5 days a week, the working hours are from 8.30am to 4.30pm

The role

The main duties involve, undertaking risk assessments, developing and reviewing safety plans, managing a small caseload, supporting clinicians and health professionals in responding to domestic abuse, completing actions for Marac in a timely manner, supporting the duty rota, and delivering short service briefings to professionals

What's needed?

The successful candidate will be, knowledgeable, a team player, practice professional curiosity and;

  • Have experience of providing practical and emotional support, advice to victims/vulnerable groups and advice and guidance to professionals.
  • Have an IDVA qualification or Level 3 Qualification in childcare/child development, health & social care, counselling or other related professional qualifications/experience. 
  • Have strong assessment skills, and able to communicate effectively.
  • Able to prioritise own workload and manage time effectively
  • Have strong emotional resilience.
  • Have experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and information-sharing protocols with a commitment to reflective practice and effective supervision
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is necessary for the role.
