About us

This role sits within the Adult Social Care/Education team, part of the Safeguarding team within Legal Services. Reporting to the Senior ASC/Education Lawyer, and ultimately the Legal Services Manager (Safeguarding).

The role

Operating in the field of adult social care and/or education law from time to time you may also be expected to advise councillors and officers in the area of children’s social care. The post involves advocacy in the Court of Protection, the Special Educational Needs Tribunal and other tribunals. 

What's needed?

All candidates will need excellent communication skills, team skills and the ability to interpret legislation in a common sense and practical manner, having due regard to the Council’s legal responsibilities.

Training and mentoring from experienced colleagues will be provided where needed.
