About us
The Warrington Domestic Abuse (DA) Hub has an exciting opportunity to recruit for a specialist IDVA to work with Male and LGBTQ+ victims of domestic abuse. The role will be based at Time Square, within the DA Hub which is a friendly and supportive team that has undergone significant expansion over the last 12 months to meet the needs of domestic abuse victims across Warrington. The DA Hub delivers 5 services: IDVA service, domestic abuse outreach service, young person’s advocacy service, child to parent abuse service and multiagency and single agency training across the borough.
The role
The role requires providing a high-quality frontline service to Male and LGBTQ+ victims of domestic abuse, with the primary aim of increasing their safety and reducing the risk of harm from abuse. The role involves undertaking risk assessments, developing and reviewing safety plans, managing a caseload, developing and facilitating small support groups, and raising the profile of Male and LGBTQ+ victims across a wide range of agencies.
What's needed?
The successful candidate will be, knowledgeable, a team player, practice professional curiosity and;
- Have experience of providing practical and emotional support, advice to victims/vulnerable groups and advice and guidance to professionals.
- Have an IDVA qualification or Level 3 Qualification in childcare/child development, health & social care, counselling or other related professional qualifications/experience.
- Have strong assessment skills, and able to communicate effectively.
- Able to prioritise own workload and manage time effectively
- Have strong emotional resilience.
- Have experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and information-sharing protocols with a commitment to reflective practice and effective supervision
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is necessary for the role.
