Warrington Borough Council are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate foster carer to join our Fostering service as a Mockingbird Hub Home Carer. 

Mockingbird, led by The Fostering Network in the UK, is an evidence-based model structured around the support and relationships an extended family provides. The model nurtures the relationships between children, young people and foster families supporting them to build a resilient, caring and sustainable fostering community.

The Hub Home Carer, together with an allocated Liaison Worker, supports 6-10 fostering families, known as satellite foster carers, and is responsible for offering planned and emergency sleepovers for up to 1-3 nights, supporting with day care as and when is needed, supporting family time arrangements, children moving on to independent living, transitioning placements, onto adoption etc and offering regular social and emotional support including but not limited to hosting monthly social events for all of the families, coffee mornings and training and development sessions for the carers.

As a Hub Home Carer you will be entitled to one day off per week, one weekend off per month and up to four weeks annual leave from the Mockingbird role per year.

To be eligible for the role you must be an experienced foster carer with a spare bedroom and another available emergency bed space living in Warrington or within a 20 minute commute. Experience in supporting a range of different young people and adults, including those with specialised needs is preferable along with knowledge of children and young people’s behaviour and development, safer caring and the local authority’s role as corporate parent.
