About us

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and able lawyer to join the in-house legal team at Warrington Borough Council.  Based within Legal Services, you will be part of the Corporate team.

The role

You will primarily work in the area of commercial law, contracts, partnerships and procurement including the resolution of disputes. You will be a key member of various project teams and will liaise with external lawyers, other council departments and other agencies as appropriate, advising on commercial law, procurement and contract matters in the context of the public sector, as well as supporting more junior members of the team.

What's needed?

You will need excellent communication skills, team skills and the ability to interpret legislation in a common sense and practical manner, having due regard to the Council’s legal responsibilities.  We offer a supportive environment within a friendly and progressive team with Lexcel accreditation.
