Swim Teacher Level 1 (part time)
About us
LiveWire delivers Aquatic Programmes across five pools in Warrington, including swimming lessons to children and adults from pre-school to lessons for children 4 years and above, through to teaching adults to learn to swim, following the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework. This role will report to the Aquatics Manager and will support a team of qualified Level 2 swim teachers to support the delivery of our successful Learn to Swim Programme.
The role
LiveWire are looking for enthusiastic, motivational and supportive qualified Level 1 Swim Teachers to assist our qualified team of Level 2 Swim Teachers by providing additional support in the water during lessons throughout our Learn to Swim programme across our five pools. This may include supporting pre-school children through our Ducklings lessons, supporting children through the early stages of Swim England's Learn to Swim Framework and adults who are beginning their learn to swim journey.
There are various hours available across our sites with lessons running Monday to Thursdays from approximately 4-7pm and Saturday and Sunday mornings.
What's needed?
Knowledge of Swim England's Learn to Swim Framework is essential, whilst experience of supporting lessons to a range of abilities and ages is beneficial although we understand applicants may be newly qualified.
- Experience supporting or knowledge of how to support children with additional needs is beneficial
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required to support lesson participants and working with the wider Aquatics team
- Be a good team player, willing to listen to instruction and be supportive where needed
- Successful candidates will require a valid Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification or equivalent and ideally hold an RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ) or RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC)
- Ongoing training attendance to support pool safety qualification is required as part of this role
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
