Teaching Assistant / Midday Assistant post - Woolston Community Primary School

Year 4 mornings: To support our KS2 split class approach where you will work with half the class practising basic skills such as spelling, times tables and hand writing etc.
Afternoons: To carry out interventions with individual children or groups of children. This could be speech and language interventions or interventions linked to EHCP plans. You will be given all the training and support you need to do this.
You will be working in both classrooms as a general teaching assistant.
The person appointed will:
- Have experience of working with children in an educational setting and it would be desirable to have some experience of working with children with special educational needs
- Have experience of implementing interventions and strategies to overcome barriers to learning in order to speed up academic progress
- Be a team player with a good sense of humour
- Have a sensitive but enthusiastic approach
- Good basic skills with grade C or above for GCSE English and maths (or equivalent)
- Be willing to undertake first aid and Team Teach training
