About us

Warrington Borough Council have an exciting opportunity to work in our short breaks home for children with disabilities and complex health needs. The home has recently been inspected by Ofsted and has gained a judgement of “outstanding” for the 11th consecutive year running.  At Westland Drive we can care for up to 3 children at any one time, up to the age of 18 years.

The role

The post is a 20-hour permanent contract, and the hours will be worked to cover a twenty-four hour, seven day a week service. This will include working between 10pm and 8am. We are looking for staff that are available between these hours and are happy to work weekends on a rota basis including working bank holidays and unsociable hours. You will receive a competitive enhancement to your hourly rate to cover weekends and working past 7pm on weekdays.

What's needed?

We are looking to recruit a 20-hour Waking Night Residential Care Worker. Having a child centred approach and supporting and encouraging children with positive sleep patterns is paramount. Personal care for the children will also be part of the role. This role will involve completing domestic duties and day to day tasks within the home, including maintaining the children records, updating risk assessments and plans and completing reports.

Candidates will be required to be flexible, enthusiastic and must be willing to undertake a range of activities with the young people. We are looking for a committed, caring and passionate candidate who will always place the children we care for at the centre of all they do.

Experience of working with young people with disabilities and complex health needs is fundamental and experience of a residential setting would be an advantage.  You will receive mandatory and specialist training and monthly supervision from your line manager. We are committed to your personal development, and we will ensure that you are fully supported in this role. The successful candidate will be joining a stable and committed staff team led by a dedicated management team.
