Creating a My Warrington account

To create a My Warrington account you will need an email address.  If you don’t have an email address, we can quickly help you set one up and within a matter of minutes, we’ll help you set up your ‘My Warrington’ account so you can access our online services.

Call into ‘Contact Warrington’ for help to get started, or use the self-serve computers in your local Library.

How do I get a My Warrington account

You will need to visit the My Warrington site to create an account

Simply follow the guide to set up your My Warrington account. Once you have done this you can start to use our services on our website.

Step 1

When you are on the My Warrington website, click the 'Register' button in the top right hand corner.

Step 2

We need your email address, so we can set up your account. If you don't have an email address, Call into ‘Contact Warrington’ for help to get started, or use the self-serve computers in your local Library.

 

Creating your password

You will need to create a password to keep your account secure. Your password needs to be at least 9 characters long and have at least one capital letter, one lowercase letter and one number.

Use letters you can remember

You could use a combination of letters and numbers you can remember  - A2bnotA2z

Use a phrase

You could use the first letters of a phrase eg. "I'm not very good at remembering passwords for websites" which would be Invgarpfw. You could use a line from a film or a song as long as there is 9 characters or more. We just need to make sure we have a mixture of letters and numbers so we get the password - Invg4rPfw

Pick memorable words

You could pick some words you would remember and change some letters to numbers. eg. Daisy Rabbit could make the password D41syR4bb1t.

Please don't use passwords that would be easy to guess such as family names or dates of birth.

 

When you are happy with your password, click the submit button under the password field.

Step 3

You will see a message pop up saying your My Warrington account has been registered and we will send you an email to you now.

All you need to do is click the Ok button close the pop up. You then need to go to your email and look for the message we have just sent you.

Step 4

The message we send you is to check we have your correct email address and you want to create a My Warrington account.  If the email isn't in your inbox, it may be in your spam or junk mail, don't forget to check them.

All you need to do is click the link in the email and we will create an account for you.

 

Can't find the email?

Please check your junk or spam folders to see if it is there. If you can't find the email, you can contact us and let us know.

Step 5

After you click on the email, you will be taken to the My Warrington website. We will let you know your account has been created and you can now Sign in to your My Warrington account. Just click the Sign in link in the text or the Sign in button in the top right.

You need to sign in using your email address and the password you created, just click 'Submit' and you will be signed in to My Warrington.

Step 6

On the first time you sign in, we will ask you to set your profile information. We can use this whenever you contact us so you don't have to type it in every time. Let us know your name contact number (only used if we need to call you).

You then need to let us know your address. We will ask you for your postcode so we can work out which street you live in, all you need to do is select the correct house from the list. You can then click 'Next' to move to the last step.

 

If you think your address is not correct or not listed, clicking the 'No' button will let you enter those details yourself. Please make sure all entries are completed and correct before clicking 'Next' to move to the last step.

Step 7

This is the final step in creating a My Warrington account. You need to check all the details we have are correct and then click the submit button to finish creating and setting up your My Warrington account.

You will then be taken back the home page of My Warrington.

What happens if I forget my password?

You can reset your password online. We will ask you to confirm your email address and will send you an email with a link to reset your password. The link:

  • can only be used once
  • must be used within 24 hours

Once you have reset your password you can use it to sign in to My Warrington
