If you have a child who was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, you need to apply now for reception class entry in September 2023. The closing date for applications is Monday 16 January 2023.

So far, 80% of predicted applications have been submitted for the 2023 year, so the council is encouraging all parents/carers of children who are due to start primary school in the autumn, that applications must be submitted by the deadline.

To make an application for reception class entry this September, parents/carers need to register their details and then apply using the Citizen Portal.

If you do not have a computer or smartphone, you may want to consider visiting your local LiveWire library to access the internet and submit your application.

Alternatively, you can contact the councils schools admissions team at schooladmissions@warrington.gov.uk, or by calling 01925 446226 to make a phone appointment for a member of the admissions team to help you to complete the online application. Please note, phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm and appointments will be scheduled on a Wednesday until the closing date for applications.

There is also an information booklet regarding first admission to Reception class for parents/carers, which can be viewed via the council’s website. The booklet provides details of the application process and estimates of your chances of success at being allocated a place at a particular school before submitting your application.
