The events will be the perfect one-stop-shop for residents to get advice and information about how to stay well this winter. With colder and darker nights, and with more illnesses circulating within communities, the Safe and Well events are the place to go for support.
The Safe and Well events will include:
- Advice on how to access benefits that you may be entitled to – there are several benefits available for residents who qualify, and the Safe and Well events are a good place to go to explore and discuss what you might be able to access
- Health checks, and flu and covid vaccinations
- Advice on how to stay safe at home, including fire safety information and guidance
- Freebies to help you keep well at home this Christmas
Where are the Safe and Well events taking place?

Cabinet member for poverty, inequality and protection, Cllr Sue Emery, said: “The community Safe and Well events we’ve set up are for everyone. You’ll be greeted with a smile and a brew, and we can provide support and guidance to you about a range of issues to help you stay well over the winter period.
“The events are all about helping you stay well over winter, keep safe in your home during these colder months, and access advice on how you could potentially save money.
“There will be health checks and vaccinations on offer and advice from community organisations including the Police, Fire, Citizen’s Advice Bureau and NHS, alongside a number of ‘freebies’ for you to take away with you.
“In particular, I want residents who may have questions about what benefits they might be able to access to come along. We’ll provide you with guidance and advice about what you may be entitled to. It’s really important we help as many people as possible to know what they can receive.”
The events, led by the council, will be supported by a range of other partners across Warrington, including Warrington Voluntary Action, Warrington Disability Partnership, the Citizens Advice Bureau, NHS organisations, Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue, Torus Foundation and beyond.
