Fans can expect to see some of the biggest names in international racing take on four challenging stages of competition next month in what will be the first major international stage race delivered by British Cycling Events.
World number one ranked Team SDWorx - Protime are among the four UCI Women’s WorldTour teams set to take on the prestigious four-day stage race.
Team of world champion Lotte Kopecky, Team SDWorx - Protime have taken 11 stage wins at previous Women’s Tour events and will be looking to add the 2024 Tour of Britain Women to their illustrious collection of WorldTour titles.
They will be joined by Team dsm firmenich PostNL and Liv AlUla Jayco, both of whom have also won multiple stages of the Women’s Tour previously, and who are currently ranked sixth and eighth in the world, respectively.
Completing the line-up of UCI Women’s WorldTour teams are Human Powered Health who are now in their second season on the Women’s WorldTour.
The peloton will also feature five UCI Women’s Continental teams who will join the six British Continental teams for the prestigious event.
AG Insurance - Soudal who moved up to the UCI’s top tier for the first time this year will field an U23 UCI Continental team and will be joined by Manchester-based Torelli; Cofidis; St. Michel - Mavic - Auber93 WE and VolkerWessels who round out the roster of teams for the 2024 Tour of Britain Women.
The event will begin in Welshpool, Wales and will reach its climax in Leigh, Greater Manchester where history will be made as the winner of the first ever Tour of Britain Women will be crowned. You can find more details on the the third stage.
