For each Cabinet meeting going forward, two public questions can be submitted in advance of the meetings, for the Leader of the Council and the Cabinet to respond to. Follow-up - or supplementary - questions can also be asked.
The Cabinet is the main decision-making body of the council. The Cabinet is made up of 10 councillors, who each in turn oversee an area of the Council. Each Cabinet member’s portfolio has specific responsibilities – such as transport, health, leisure, poverty, economic growth, finance, social care, housing, and sustainability - that keep the Council working to achieve its objectives.
Cabinet member for Organisation, Innovation and Co-operation, Cllr Nathan Sudworth, said: “We’ve introduced public questions at our Cabinet meetings as another opportunity for people to take part in local democracy.
“The ability for people to ask us questions is another way of ensuring we’re accountable for the decisions we make for Warrington and our communities.
“You can ask us about current projects or priorities, or perhaps seek our views on something that matters to you in your local area.
“On behalf of the Cabinet I encourage you to put your questions to us.”
The next Cabinet meetings are on Monday 13 January 2025 and Monday 10 February 2025. Questions need to be sent in no later than 9am, seven clear working days before the meeting to [email protected]
