Through a series of events, raffles, and fundraisers, LiveWire staff and members raised funds across each of the six LiveWire hubs.

Events and activities

  • Raffle for members: Members had the chance to win up to £300 worth of prizes, with all proceeds going towards the North West Air Ambulance Charity. The raffle was a great success, encouraging participation and donations from the community.
  • Earth Day clean-up: Earth Day events included coffee mornings and activities organised by each of the six hubs. This event not only raised funds but also promoted environmental awareness and community spirit.
  • Combatathon at Great Sankey: This four-hour event saw both members and the public come together for a massive group exercise session. The Combatathon was a high-energy event that raised significant funds through participant donations and sponsorships.
  • Back-to-the-80s exercise session at Broomfields Leisure Centre: This fun-filled event took participants on a nostalgic journey with 80s-themed exercise routines. The session was well-attended and added to the fundraising total.

Impact of donations

Danny, North West Air Ambulance’s Regional Fundraiser, highlighted the profound impact of the donation, explaining that £1000 could potentially save two lives by providing four units of blood, including two giving sets, or by fuelling a full month for two of the charity’s rapid response vehicles.

Gratitude and acknowledgements

Cabinet member for communities, culture and leisure, Cllr Tony Higgins, said: “LiveWire will always have the community at its heart - this successful fundraiser is another great example of that commitment.

“My thanks go to the LiveWire staff and valued members in raising such important funds, which will help to make a difference.”

The North West Air Ambulance Charity relies on donations to continue providing critical emergency medical services. We are proud to support their mission and contribute to saving lives in our community.
