After receiving reports of commercial rubbish being disposed of in a residential communal bin area at Greenings Court, Fairfield & Howley, the council investigated the incident and were able to connect it with Hutchinson.
Hutchinson had claimed he was carrying work out on behalf of a local resident and admitted he had disposed of the waste incorrectly by using residential bins nearby.
The magistrates issued a fine, with a victim surcharge added on.
Cllr John Kerr-Brown, cabinet member for environment and public protection said: “Business waste should not be disposed of in residential bins. Businesses should have their own waste disposal arrangements in place, including contracts with waste management companies for proper collection, disposal and recycling of their waste.
“Residential bins are meant for household waste. Mixing business waste with residential waste can lead to issues such as overflowing bins, contamination, and bins being unable to be collected because of their contents”.
Guidance for the disposal of business waste is available via the Governments’ website gov.uk/dispose-business-commercial-waste.
Residents can provide any information in relation to fly tipping incidents via the council’s website warrington.gov.uk/flytipping.
