Cllr Johnson said: “It has been a truly heart-breaking week for Southport and its communities. As a near neighbour, Warrington stands in firm solidarity with Southport. We mourn the loss of the victims, grieve for the families and friends of those taken, and pray for those who have been injured and affected by the horrifying attack.”

Warrington Town Hall will also be lit up pink tonight in solidarity with Southport. A number of public sector buildings in the region and indeed nationally are expected to light up their buildings this evening in tribute and remembrance of the victims of the attack.
