Opening in October 1961, Fox Covert Cemetery has burial areas for various religious denominations, and exclusive right of burial is available to buy for individual plots. There are also smaller plots available for cremated remains and there is a beautiful baby garden.

The cemetery is home to some stunning wildlife including rabbits, foxes and badgers. Buzzards, kestrels, sparrowhawks and owls are often be seen overhead, and robins and smaller birds in the surrounding hedges.

Fox Covert has a viewing platform with a spectacular panorama of Warrington. On clear days you can see as far as Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and the Winter Hill transmitter near Rivington. There are benches around the cemetery offering a lovely, quiet place of contemplation. The cemetery holds a Green Flag award.

Visiting

Dogs are legally required to be kept on leads in cemeteries and crematorium gardens in the Borough to respectfully maintain these spaces.

  • The car park is open every day between 10am and 3pm.
  • There is 24-hour pedestrian access.
