Carers assessments
Being a carer can be challenging as well as demanding. The Care Act 2014 requires local authorities to identify and offer an assessment.
If the person, you support is currently known to Warrington Borough Council and has a professional/practitioner working with them and you then they should be offered a carers assessment either jointly or separately so ask if this is not the case.
It may be more appropriate for the person you care for to have an assessment in their own right or if you want to continue and are able to be put forward for a carers assessment in your own right where if eligible a commissioned service can be offered.
If you continue to be overwhelmed being a carer and this is having an impact on your life, health and wellbeing you can talk to One Front Door team on 01925 443322 (option 1 followed by option 2) or send us a message at servicereception@warrington.gov.uk We aim to reply to all emails within two working days.
