After checking out the local plan for the Grappenhall area, I can see many objections to this plan: 1 Any houses or industrial area's that are built on Green Belt land is using precious farming, carbon absorbing land. This will make Grappenhall area a place of higher air pollution, when residents have moved to this area for its air quality. 2 Brownfield regeneration should be a priority over any green belt usage, there are plenty of buildings that can be converted to apartments to accommodate the affordable housing, these buildings are already in built up area's with transport eg buses, trains etc without having to build more roads, plus the infrastructure is in place. 3 The villages affected will be absorbed and loose their identity and character. 4 The roads in the area cannot take the amount of traffic as it is, if more houses are built , the roads will be overloaded. eg the M6 / M56/ M62 has an accident occur the whole of Warrington is in grid lock. The traffic is already queuing on Knutsford Road to get over the Swing bridge, the Cantilever bridge is extremely busy and again is an old structure which cannot take heavy loads. The Stanley Lunt bridge was never designed to carry the traffic from the industrial estate at Appleton plus residential traffic, this will dramatically increase with the new builds and the rat race of Albert Road will be more dangerous to the residents, school children going into Grappenhall village and the library users. 5 If economical housing is needed the South of Warrington with it's higher priced housing is not the area to build in, again redevelopment of town centre office space and brownfield areas is more able to provide the housing needed. 6 Re- development of some of the beautiful building this town has left, to apartments would be more beneficial to the commuters for Manchester and Liverpool, without the need to destroy the area's of green that people enjoy.
