I want to express my concerns regarding the proposal to use green belt land in south Warrington to build 4200 new homes. I understand we need affordable housing but as house prices in south Warrington are higher than most other parts if Warrington I fail to see how these will be affordable. The infrastructure in South Warrington is already at breaking point. The A49 is constantly queued making pollution worse. And people driving around instead of using Runcorn Bridge has exacerbated the problem. I also have concerns about Warrington town centre which is now like a ghost town. With empty shops in the Golden Square and Bridge st. The council needs to do more to reinvigorate the town centre building houses close to the town centre will increase footfall.
