Summary of comments

Our concerns include:- Construction of 4,200 new homes will destroy landscape, agricultural and greenbelt land forever. Wildlife and oxygenating plants need protecting. Brown Belt land should be first choice.
The housing development must have new schools, medical facilities, recreation areas and shops etc. These should be planned and agreed before construction starts and should be in place early. Existing facilities, particularly some of those in Stockton Heath, are already over-stretched.
The current road infrastructure is inadequate considering the number of new dwellings and the new Industrial/trucking development. Traffic volume is already very high in Stockton Heath and I understand that traffic pollution in the Village Centre is approaching health concern levels. It?s difficult to see how the proposed diversion of Stretton Road to the A49 will ease the situation. A means to improve traffic flow over the Ship Canal crossings must be agreed. Diversion routes for Large/Heavy trucking need to be agreed and put in place. Stockton Heath will need increased car parking facilities to avoid further congestion of through routes and residential streets.
