Having considered all of the details in the proposed Warrington Local Plan myself and my wife firmly object to the proposals. We have lived in the parish of Stockton Heath for 30+ years and over that time congestion has steadily got worse. Air quality has decreased especially along the A49, how can an increase in traffic (which will be a direct result of increased housing) fit in with the government's proposals on climate change?
We do not object to the provision of more housing ( and affordable housing should be a priority) but do not accept that there will be nil negative effect on travel routes across the town especially in the South of the town.
We need proper infrastructure in place first and foremost before any proposals to add to the overall housing in the town. Regeneration of the town centre needs to be a priority now especially after so many shops/businesses have closed.
