The Parish Council thinks that transport provisions in the allocation policy are insufficient. Routes within Great Sankey will be used by many residents and commercial vehicles for access to the site especially junction 8 of the M62. Already heavily trafficked these routes will be under further stress from the south west extension of Omega. Increased traffic from the Western Link Road will also join with Cromwell Avenue and Sankey Way increasing traffic in the east of the parish. A new access to junction 22 of the M6 is being provided for the Parkside development why has consideration f the same been given to Fiddlers Ferry.
Points 29- 33
The Parish Council supports the allocations for housing development and employment in the south east of the borough as it feels that that previous development has been concentrated in the north of the borough.
The Parish Council supports the allocation of the Fiddlers Ferry site and the requirements of the policy to provide for existing communities through new social infrastructure. The PC though feels past housing developments have not kept up with the development of facilities and this has resulted in retrospective provision which has meant stresses on existing social infrastructure before that provision is put in place. The PC also supports site surveys and ecological protection for the Mersey Estuary.
