Case not made for growth that is driving increased housing no. - 2018 ONS data predicts significantly lower growth for town. Plan confirms urban capacity for no. of homes that could be built on brownfield sites - suggests sufficient brownfield land available to support a 14 1/2 year building programme - no need for Green Belt release until beyond first decade of plan.

Green Belt release is not in line with declared climate emergency. Green Belt release does not support economy of town as residents of development in South Warrington will likely travel elsewhere for retail and leisure due to three water barriers on route into Warrington town centre. Plan releases Green Belt immediately - not sound - a sound plan would preserve Green Belt due to uncertainty regarding future housing demand. No exceptional circumstances for Green Belt release. To progress with plan is not sound in light of recent Government announcements regarding protection of Green Belt.

SEWUE has no provision for mass transport other than the motor-vehicle and vague promises of public transport systems - making car use the only viable solution for travel from this area - development is therefore not sound or sustainable. Lack of accessible facilities and services in area for new residents. No guarantees regarding infrastructure to support development - no confidence that infrastructure will be in place ahead of homes. Development contradicts aim to preserve distinctive villages.

Opportunity to develop Fiddlers Ferry which has rail transport links to the town centre has been missed, this location should not become an employment location but rather a new village built on Brownfield land with sustainable links to the town centre and beyond. The plan as currently drafted fails to capitalise on the opportunities that present themselves for brownfield land residential use at Fiddlers Ferry.

Consultation process not sound - South Warrington most affected by plan, consultation events held in North Warrington. Plan will increase already high pollution levels - particularly in South Warrington. Plan proposes wrong houses in wrong places - plan does not deliver on affordable housing. Plan will place homes in areas of high air/noise pollution - not sound or sustainable. Plan sacrifices green spaces for no valid reason - harmful to environment and unsustainable in the context of the climate emergency.
