I am writing to object to the Borough Local Plan and in particular the South East Urban Extension. I do not believe the plan to be sound nor is it in line with locally assessed needs.
Insufficient attention has been paid to the traffic that would be generated especially regarding the canal crossings. Air quality would be adversely affected. Green belt land would be permanently destroyed; lost forever. The number of new dwellings and required cars is not sustainable. Sufficient attention is not given to the effects of and provision of new utilities. Other necessary infrastructure such as schools and medical centres are not guaranteed.
