Unhappy with reduction in Green Belt, especially as land in South Warrington is predominantly targeted. Air quality, environment, ecological considerations, sustainability and quality of life all require the maintenance of as much Green Belt as possible. No exceptional circumstances to justify Green Belt release.

Summary of comments

Additional warehousing facilities are not needed - these take up large tracts of land for a low density of low paid jobs. More focus on creating higher quality jobs needed. Most workers of development will have to travel from outside of the area - making this unsustainable. Increased traffic/pollution on already overstretched road network.

Summary of comments

Lack of focus on local transport links. Plan contains no significant plans for regeneration of town centre. Plan seems to rely on extremely ambitious growth forecasts - no justification. Infrastructure insufficient to cope with scale of new development. Plan threatens identity and character of South Warrington villages.
