I wish to register my objection to the proposed plan to build a large number of houses in the area just off the A49 around Appleton and Stretton. I believe that there is already insufficient road access to Stockton Heath and Warrington from this area and the additional traffic will exacerbate this situation. We already find it difficult to exit our drive and enter the traffic on London Road and regularly queue to get into and through Stockton Heath. I think that the whole plan is back to front, the infrastructure should be put in first, prior to building any more houses.
I do not believe that the properties being constructed on the green belt sites are being built to fill the need for affordable housing, but to maximise the profit for the builders due to the highly sought after location. These properties will only add to the already poor access, lack of local facilities - shops, doctors, dentists, public transport etc..
Stop this plan now! Sort out the transport links to Warrington by putting additional bridges over the ship canal and then refurbish and extend or replace the cantilever.
