The proposed Plan does not sufficiently take into account the issue of climate change and its impact in Warrington and surrounding area. Remains too much of a focus on building on Green Belt. The needs of young people must be addressed by the plan. Building on brownfield sites will better suit young people?s needs ? lower cost flats and town houses with easy access to town centre. Development focused on outskirts of town impacts negatively on the environment and leads to more car dependency. Nearby motorways and roads in south Warrington cannot cope with current levels of traffic and air quality will be further impacted upon. The amount of new homes proposed in the Green Belt far exceeds minimum requirements set by government. The Council should use money spent on consultants to provide loft insulation and other environmental measures.

No justification for the amount of new homes proposed in the Green Belt at the SEWUE.

Proposed employment here cannot be guaranteed to be taken up by local people. This would lead to more congestion as people travel by car to work from outside the area.
