UPSVLP 1422
The Fiddlers Ferry allocation policy has not addressed the following: A live railway line through the site ? consider ALL safety aspects of this; The natural floodplain and spring tidal considerations of the Mersey have been missed; Laying foundations and more concrete even if a flood defence is incorporate will push any flood aspects downstream towards Sankey; The local and wider road network will suffer from additional commercial and commuter traffic swamping Penketh & Sankey areas; Suggested plan for a specific type of commercial usage must been maintained in the plan not more warehousing (inappropriate for existing infrastructure); More emphasis on affordable housing or self-build housing opportunities.
No consideration given to traffic growth and infrastructure weakness on local roads if the Western Link goes ahead. The Western Link will cause more congestion and pollution in Warrington West.
.The approval of the TJ Morris Appeal in St Helens will create more traffic which will be exacerbated by the Fiddlers Ferry development, this includes J8 of the M62
The protection of Green Belt is mentioned in the Fiddlers Ferry allocation policy as important in separating Halton and Warrington. However the Council encouraged the Home and Bargains development at Omega in St Helens which is hypocritical, along with the protection of Burtonwood.
Warrington needs to encourage St Helens to build road infrastructure to take traffic away from Warrington especially if St Helens are building on Green Belt land.
Failure to protect Peel Hall is disastrous.
Objection to the 656 Green Belt allocation.
Support the deletion of the Port Warrington allocation.
Supports the Parkside development and plans to keep traffic away from local roads.
Not enough emphasis on the provision of doctors and dentists in the allocation policies, there is a shortage at present and a new hospital is needed. There is also not enough focus on the provision of education with housing growth including school expansions and new schools.
