Why you consider the Draft Local Plan is not legally compliant or is unsound or fails to comply with the duty to co-operate
The Plan is not sound because the Council has to go with the government's 2014 figure for housing need (816 a year). However, more recent population growth estimates predict much smaller figures, so it is unlikely that all these houses need to be built. Also, the exceptional circumstances needed to build on greenbelt have not been proven and building on it is a massive mistake which cannot be rectified.Brownfield sites in the town centre need regenerating and could be used for affordable homes near employment and public transport. If greenbelt is built upon instead, the brownfield sites will get neglected and decay.
