Why you consider the Draft Local Plan is not legally compliant or is unsound or fails to comply with the duty to co-operate

1. Annexation of the green belt is not in line with Government guidelines so not legal.
2. The green belt is very important and the destruction of the green belt in the Lymm proposals in particular destroys areas close to the main arterial motorway network. This land in particular needs the environmental and ecological benefits of green belt land.
3. The proposed areas in Lymm and Thelwall are liable to flooding, in particular when the locks are closed upstream on the Manchester Ship canal to protect Warrington as in December 2015.
4. Lymm has an individual identity which would be destroyed by further development. Large expansion has already occurred and the infrastructure is already straining to support the inflated population.
5. Brownfield development should be considered to protect the agreed green belt network, energise Warrington and build up the town community.

Modification if applicable

1 Review the brown site opportunities in Warrington, re-invigorate Warrington to act as the commercial centre to the area.
2 Extending the urban sprawl would just destroy green belt areas and boundaries and not improve Warrington itself.
3. Comply with the Government instructions to protect established green belt corridors and regional enhancement.
