UPSVLP 2243
The local plan is not fit for purpose, is not deliverable and needs modification for the following reasons;
1. The plan releases greenbelt without proper justification and does not put brownfield regeneration first..
2.Thelwall Heys is being proposed for approximately 300 homes. This was put into Greenbelt by Warrington Borough Council in 2006. Greenbelt boundaries are supposed to endure. Why is it being removed without justification and before Brownfield regeneration being used ? In addition there is no infrastructure being put in place to allow this development. What is the access to this site ?
3 New homes proposed in the south are too far away from the rail network meaning more car use on an already overcrowded road network.
4 Six56 development is in the wrong place as the motorway network in this area is already overcrowded and sees frequent long delays this development will just make the problem a lot worse. In addition it uses a lot of land to deliver very few poorly paid jobs.
5 The local Plan does nothing to ease the already poor congestion and air quality, in fact it just makes it a lot worse as it just increases reliance on car and lorry use.
6 There is no clear detail of public transport access to the town centre from the south of the town.
7 The plan does not justify exceptional circumstances that require the need for Green Belt development over Brownfield regeneration.
8 The plan takes no account of what development is occurring in the surrounding areas of Merseyside, Greater Manchester or Cheshire.
