Why you consider the Draft Local Plan is not legally compliant or is unsound or fails to comply with the duty to co-operate

Firstly the council has not fulfilled the duty to co-operate. I am a local Resident who will be directly impacted by the proposed plan due to the proximity of the proposed south east urban extension development. Our household has had no information from the council about the consultation - we have only found out about it through Lib Dem newsletter.
We have seen no leaflet drops to Residents and no publicity in local media. I accept there probably have been some efforts made but they have not been sufficient if no-one knows about it.

The proposed south east urban extension is a huge change, but there has no opportunity to view the plan in south Warrington.

The plan is not sound. There is already huge strain on infrastructure, specifically lumb brook bridge and lack of other crossings on the Bridgewater canal and Manchester ship canal. The proposed development will put further strain on existing traffic bottle necks. The plan does not mitigate for this and will make an existing problem much much worse.

There is no justification for building on the green belt when there are plenty of brownfield sites in other areas of the town that would benefit from regeneration.

There is no need for the harm to local ecology and air quality that the plan would cause, and insufficient mitigation proposed.

The plan is an environmental disaster and will cause irreversible damage to the south Warrington area and the character of our villages.

Modification if applicable

Stop the south east urban extension.

The process of submitting feedback on the plan is not at all clear and straightforward to understand. Almost as if it has been designed to put people off responding - very disappointing.
