Why you consider the Draft Local Plan is not legally compliant or is unsound or fails to comply with the duty to co-operate

I do NOT believe the plan is sound for the following reasons:

1) Green belt will be destroyed by this development & once developed there will be no going back. All existing brown field sites should be developed before any attempt is made to re-purpose green belt. This makes it unsound.

2) The vast majority of development is planned for Warrington South; surely to minimise impact on the town, the additional housing should be spread evenly around Warrington. I strongly suspect that the value of property in Warrington South is what is making this area prime choice out of all the available greenbelt. This makes it unsound.

3) The number of dwellings and their associated Residents and vehicles is unsustainable for the local area. The plan does not show adequately how the impact from the thousands of homes will be managed on the area. The area already struggles with traffic in particular. This makes it unsound.

4) Increased traffic caused by additional vehicles on the roads will increase the air quality problems. The plan does not adequately address these issues and how they are to be managed. This makes the plan unsound.

5) The plan outlines the need for additional amenities for the area (schools, leisure and medical facilities) but does not guarantee these will actually be built and in place as the development starts. This needs to be a clear condition of the development, otherwise it won?t happen and will be an afterthought once existing amenities are under strain or overrun. This makes the plan unsound.

6) The proposed road improvements are inadequate with only the diversion of the Stretton Road to a junction with the A49 south of the cat and lion appearing to be a condition. This is unacceptable, as stated previously the Warrington South area already struggles with traffic and improvements above and beyond what are proposed by the plan are needed to fix the current issues. Therefore, the plan does not go far enough to cater for the additional traffic caused by thousands of new homes and their associated vehicles.

7) Where land is being developed it shows no consideration for green space within. Over time it is inevitable that the population will grow and the town will need more homes. By building housing so densely packed it leaves no space for green space and the environment. When the North West eventually merges as one big mass of housing and commercial property we will have no green space within to enjoy, allow nature to thrive and soak up pollution from vehicles and commercial activities. The plan should allow more green space within it to be sustainable for future generations. This makes it unsound.
