The SEWUE allocation does not provide a robust new Green Belt boundary and so the allocation is unsound.

Summary of comments

The revised Green Belt boundary on the eastern edge of the SEWUE is influenced by land ownership rather than the policy direction intended within the NPPF. Broad Lane prepsents a readily recognisable and permanent feature which would be a stronger Green Belt boundary. The local plan does not reference Biodiversity Net Gain - land in the ownership of Mulbury should be considered to provide a significant area of BNG to offet development of the parcel of land to the south of Broad Lane for residential purposes.
