We are looking to recruit a School Crossing Patrol in Penketh to join our existing dedicated team of patrols.

School Crossing Patrols form part of the larger Traffic Management and Road Safety Team.

The role

The role of a School Crossing Patrol is to safely stop traffic to allow all pedestrians, adults and children, to cross safely at designated patrol sites.  Whilst ensuring stringent operational procedures are adhered to.

This site operates term time only - Monday - Friday - split morning and afternoon shifts.

What's needed?

Delivering a quality service is a priority, and this high profile, public facing position is key to that.  As such, we are looking for someone who is friendly, approachable and has excellent interpersonal skills. 

Previous customer service or direct public engagement experience is essential along with outstanding communication skills. 

You should also have an understanding of the Highway Code and have experience or knowledge of how to assess risk and record as necessary.

In addition you should have a flexible approach and to be able to physically manage the challenge of standing for lengthy periods of time, in all weather conditions.  

You will be an excellent time keeper and be able to follow and adhere to instruction.

You will be issues with a full uniform that must be worn at all times on duty and you will be responsible for the uniform's safe storage and correct use.

The post requires an enhanced level DBS clearance.
