Part Time Teaching Assistant Key Stage 2 - Thelwall Community Primary - 21.25 hours Fixed Term 1 Year

Required - September 2024

The school is seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic teaching assistant who is able to support teaching and learning throughout the whole key stage and is willing to take part in the life of the school.

The successful applicant will be working with children either in small groups or on a one to one basis. This role is part time but with the potential for additional hours. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of working with children and young people with SEN. The role will also involve supporting children out of the classroom, as well as supporting teaching and learning in the classroom. The post also includes pastoral care duties including lunchtime pupil support.

  • can work alongside teachers and other support staff to support and develop the literacy and numeracy skills of pupils
  • have an ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with the pupils, parents and staff
  • have experience of working with children with specific needs
  • are able to work as part of a team
  • demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
  • conform to school policies and procedures – safeguarding, welfare, health and safety and data protection
  • undergo any training required in order to perform relevant duties efficiently
  • support the teaching of a curriculum that allows pupils to achieve and make progress
  • be a patient and understanding supporter to vulnerable pupils
