I attended the planning meeting in October (2017) & I was very impressed by all the parties who presented sound & sensible objections to the scheme eg destruction of green belt, disruption to wildlife, increased traffic which the present road system cannot sustain, increased pollution, lack of infrastructure (schools, shops, medical facilities etc.) These arguments took the best part of 2 hours after which there was a vote. The vote of acceptance took all of 5 minutes with as far as I remember 1 vote against & 1 abstention. This indicated to me that it was a done deal & no amount of argument & objection was going to change the Council's mind. This I find disgusting & shocking. Shame on the Council!
The government edict was that County, Borough & Parish Councils had a duty to provide affordable housing ie low cost. Stockton Heath, Appleton, Grappenhall & Appleton Thorn are NOT low cost housing areas. The homes should therefore be built in lower cost areas eg brownfield sites such as Fiddlers Ferry
